The Canyon Vista Middle School Symphony Orchestra has been named the Honor Full Orchestra for 2025 through the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). This recognition is one of the highest honors a music group can receive in the state of Texas, similar to winning a state championship.

Westwood High School students and staff are celebrating the completion of the school’s new two-story wing with math classrooms and an art studio. These upgrades include a second wing that houses a new band hall, orchestra and choir rooms, and two large dance studios. The major campus upgrades were made possible through the 2018 Voter Approved Bond.
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has recognized Round Rock ISD for its exceptional dedication to music education by awarding it the Best Communities for Music Education designation. The District is among the 830 schools in the country to receive this honor.
Two Westwood freshmen won the prize of a lifetime! Mya and Lucy won an all-expenses paid trip to New York to see Hamilton and meet the cast and crew afterward. The duo was selected after writing and performing a poem about Aaron Burr’s daughter, Theodosia. Watch this video to hear all about the contest and the adventure that awaits them.
