The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has recognized Round Rock ISD for its exceptional dedication to music education by awarding it the Best Communities for Music Education designation. The District is among the 830 schools in the country to receive this honor.

To qualify for this distinction, Round Rock ISD had to meet program requirements, funding, instruction, and support for innovative music and community music-making programs. Submitted data was reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas and verified with school officials.

“The students, staff, and Round Rock ISD’s Fine Arts community have accomplished remarkable feats this school year, and we take great pride in their achievements,” said Jager Loyde, director of fine arts – music. “Being recognized as a NAMM Foundation Best Community for Music Education is a tremendous honor that reflects our unwavering dedication to music education and exceptional support for fine arts in our community.”

For 24 years, the 2023 Best Communities for Music Education program has recognized the outstanding efforts of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders and their support for music education as part of a well-rounded education for all children.
