Jollyville Elementary robotics team takes first-place for Robot Design

The Jollyville Elementary School fifth-grade robotics team known as Jaguar Pride took first-place in Robot Design at the First Lego League Robotics Competition. Jaguar Pride bested 29 other teams comprised of students from fourth to eight-grade. The team’s first-place win qualifies them to advance to the Regional Competition in April.

Herrington Elementary named Coat for Kids, Coat Drive Champions

Round Rock ISD’s Herrington Elementary Spanish Language and Culture Institute has earned the distinction of being named the 2021 Coat for Kids, Coat Drive Champions. United in their cause to provide new and gently worn warm coats and jackets for Central Texas children in need, collectively, the campus community secured over 300 coats to donate to Coats for Kids during a 15-day campaign.

Round Rock ISD student-athletes ink collegiate letters of intent

Round Rock ISD student-athletes took the next steps towards becoming collegiate athletes by signing early letters of intent. When student-athletes sign a National Letter of Intent, they have officially committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The National Letter of Intent is issued to prospective student-athletes with a scholarship.
November’s early signing day event marked the first day of early signing for all sports except football.

Round Rock ISD, 3 high schools named 2021 State of Education Award Winners by Austin Chamber of Commerce

Last week, the Austin Chamber of Commerce named Round Rock ISD and McNeil, Stony Point and Westwood high schools award winners during their 2021 State of Education and Talent event on Oct. 28. The annual celebration recognizes school districts and campuses for their progress and successes in developing future talent and preparing students for postsecondary and career success.
