Finishing an epic season, tennis players from Westwood High School and Round Rock High School left the UIL Spring State Tennis Tournament with gold and bronze medals.

From Westwood, Kinaa Graham took home first place and the title of State Champion in the 6A Girls Singles Division. Joining her as champions, Aadhi Raja and Aashish Dhanani placed first in the 6A Boys Doubles Division. For the second year in a row, Westwood ended up taking two out of the five possible state champion titles at the tournament.

Round Rock High School students DeCora Antoine and Alix Dry took home one of the top awards in the 6A Girls Doubles Division. The pair placed third, taking home the bronze medal.

“I’m blown away by how well they played,” said Westwood Tennis Coach Travis Dalrymple. “They stepped up and played their best tennis in the biggest moment. As a coach, I can’t ever ask for anything more than that. I am so proud of them. Two more golds. Unreal. Absolutely unreal.”

“I am incredibly proud of the hard work DeCora and Alix put in this season,” Round Rock High School Tennis Coach Neil Grobler said. “Qualifying for the State Tournament was a huge accomplishment, and advancing to earn a bronze medal was truly an amazing way to cap off a special season. Our tennis program continues to take big strides toward being one of the top 6A tennis programs in the state, and it’s all because of the dedication and countless hours spent on the court by these athletes! I am looking forward to working with DeCora and Alix next year in their senior season, along with all of their talented teammates.”
