Our schools thrive because of the time, energy, and passion our volunteers bring to the district. We have more than 8,500 active family volunteers serving as mentors, W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, chaperones, booster club members, classroom helpers, event organizers, library aides, and more. Their commitment to our students and staff is truly magical.

Your Voice, Your Story: Celebrating Black History Month

Three students represent Round Rock ISD in the Youth Art Month competition

Three Round Rock ISD students have been selected to showcase their artwork in the 2025 Texas Youth Art Month exhibition. This prestigious event is hosted by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) which recognizes exceptional creativity and skill in hundreds of student submissions statewide.

Jollyville Elementary celebrates December Holidays

Jollyville Elementary is one of the most diverse elementary schools in the District. As a celebration of December holidays worldwide, Jollyville students, teachers and families worked together to create table displays highlighting eight of those holidays.

Cactus Ranch Transformation Room: Bringing Learning to Life

At Cactus Ranch Elementary students get to step into a whole other world to experience learning. From a 50s theme diner to Toy Story to an underwater adventure, the Transformation Room is a place students can think outside the box and get more hands on with learning.

Officer nominations for Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs closes Feb. 15

Round Rock ISD’s Council of PTA’s nominating committee invites and encourages nominations of PTA members from Round Rock ISD schools to serve on the 2023-2024 Round Rock ISD’s Council of PTAs. All current PTA members are eligible for nomination. Candidates may either self-nominate or be nominated by another individual. All nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Dr. Mario Acosta selected as Texas PTA’s Secondary Principal of the Year

The Texas Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has selected Dr. Mario Acosta as their 2022 Secondary Principal of the Year. Dr. Acosta, who left Westwood High School at the end of this school year, was selected among 300 nominations at the elementary, secondary and district level for the award. 

Sommer Elementary School takes a virtual trip around the world

Sommer Elementary School’s cultural fest, organized by the PTA, is always a big success featuring different booths, foods and cultures from all over the world. This year the PTA was determined to continue the tradition and put together a “Passport to Sommer” that was a little different than years’ past.

VIDEO: First Grade Fine Dines at Forest North Elementary School

Teachers at Forest North Elementary School used the cafeteria, not the classroom, to teach essential life skills – table manners. Made possible by a grant, awarded by the school PTA, first-graders put their good manners to use while enjoying their lunch in a “fine dining” atmosphere with cloth napkins, table linens, and flowers.

Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs seeks Officer Nominees for 2020-21

Nominees wishing to become candidates for the following leadership positions must submit a resume with a paragraph declaring interest to any member of the Nominating Committee by Friday, Feb. 21. Candidates may either self-nominate or be nominated by another individual.

Clear Bag Policy to be enforced at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex and Dragon Stadium

In an effort to improve safety and security, a Clear Bag Policy will be instituted at all large scale events held at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex and Dragon Stadium in Round Rock ISD. These will include events such as varsity football games, band marching contests, and other highly attended events beginning in August 2019.
