Round Rock ISD trustees Thursday night called for a $998 million bond election to provide upgrades and address needs throughout the district. This is the district’s first bond in six years and would allow the district to replace instructional technology, HVAC, and other systems that are nearing the end of their useful lives.
Robertson Elementary took part in COW Day (Careers on Wheels). This event featured careers from all walks of life and gave elementary school students a sneak peek into things that might spark their interest.
Join Round Rock ISD on Monday, March 25 at Stony Point High School as we create the District’s Long-Range Facilities Master Plan. The plan will be the culmination of more than a year of work that began with facilities assessments and the creation of the district’s first education specifications, which detail the ideal spaces for campuses at all levels.
Part of the 2018 Bond was an over $10 million expansion to Brushy Creek Elementary. This includes a brand-new building with 26 classrooms, eliminating the need for portable buildings on campus, and expanding and updating the existing gym and cafeteria.
Round Rock ISD’s Board of Trustees voted Thursday to approve funds for the construction of a permanent Early College High School (ECHS) structure on the Austin Community College (ACC) site, and to give permission to the District to begin designing plans for the expansion of the Stony Point High School cafeteria. Both campuses and projects were included as part of the voter-approved Bond 2018.
The Round Rock ISD Operations and Construction departments were selected to receive the 2022 Caudill Award, the highest honor an architectural project can receive, during the annual Exhibit of School Architecture competition, for their work on Redbud Elementary School.
The newest school building in the District, C.D. Fulkes Middle School held a ribbon cutting on October 6, 2022 to celebrate the opening of the school this year. The campus is named after C.D. Fulkes, who served as the principal of Round Rock High School for 19 years. His legacy will live on in this new state-of-the-art building.

Fulkes flooring being converted into a seating area in the library, everyone is loving the new learning environment.
Redbud Elementary is open for teaching and learning! The building opened this Fall and staff and students are excited to be some of the first people to walk through its halls. Educators from across Round Rock ISD campuses and departments were selected to receive $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants from the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. The Excellence in Education Grants provides resources for educators to execute innovative ideas, programs, materials, equipment, field trips, and various other needs that enhance student learning. All Round Rock ISD students are impacted by the grants in some capacity.
Voters passed Bond 2018 to fund numerous projects across the district including a new aquatic center and several safety upgrades. In this video, we check in on the progress being made and completion dates for several of those projects.
Maintenance and custodial crews continue to work around the clock repairing storm damage and preparing campuses to welcome back students safely. Thanks to the dedication of these hard-working teams, we are hopeful that we will resume campus operations on Wednesday, Feb. 24. We will make a final determination tomorrow and will communicate to our staff and families as soon as possible.
Round Rock ISD’s oldest campus, CD Fulkes Middle School, will undergo an entire rebuild, transforming the dated school with its patchwork of additions over the decades, into a modern, state-of-the-art facility. The Board of Trustees approved funding for the project at its regular monthly board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.
