As we continue to monitor reports of the impact of the Coronavirus, Round Rock ISD, along with our county health departments and state and federal government agencies, remain dedicated to working together to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. This is an ever-evolving situation and we must remain nimble to keep up with the latest developments. Board of Trustees approve boundary adjustments for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved boundary changes for Elsa England, Herrington, Caraway and Teravista elementary schools at the Board’s regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Also approved were proposed feeder pattern adjustments for Joe Lee Johnson Elementary School and C.D. Fulkes Middle School, which allows for better alignment for students transitioning from elementary to middle to high schools. The largest change for Herrington Elementary was made to create an attendance zone for the yet-to-be-constructed Elementary 35, scheduled to open for the 2021-2022 school year. All other approved boundary changes will take effect for the 2020–2021 school year.

VIDEO: First Grade Fine Dines at Forest North Elementary School

Teachers at Forest North Elementary School used the cafeteria, not the classroom, to teach essential life skills – table manners. Made possible by a grant, awarded by the school PTA, first-graders put their good manners to use while enjoying their lunch in a “fine dining” atmosphere with cloth napkins, table linens, and flowers.

Partner Spotlight: Sleep in Heavenly Peace

The organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace recognizes the importance of every child having a proper bed and a good night’s sleep. On Feb. 1, 2020, Sleep in Heavenly Peace teamed with First United Methodist Church of Round Rock to build high-quality bunk beds for families in need.

Board Briefs: Boundary Review 2020 Workshop

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees held a workshop on Feb. 13, 2020, to discuss potential adjustments to boundaries in areas of the District and receive public feedback. The evening focused on possible adjustments to the Elsa England, Caraway, Herrington, and small portions of the Teravista attendance areas to address campus capacity and prepare for the opening of Elementary 35 in Fall 2021.

Round Rock ISD salutes career and technical education in our schools during Career & Technical Education Month. Career & Technical Education (CTE) serves over 12,000 Round Rock ISD students in high school and middle school, offering more than 100-course offerings.
