Round Rock ISD adjusts compensation plan to increase veteran teacher salaries

The Round Rock Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved an amended compensation plan for the 2019-2020 school year that infuses more revenue into salaries for teachers, librarians, registered nurses, counselors and licensed professionals with an emphasis on ensuring veteran teachers receive a substantial pay boost.

7 Round Rock ISD schools named 2019 ‘Children at Risk’ Top Performing Schools

Seven Round Rock ISD schools were ranked among the top schools in Central Texas by the 2019 CHILDREN AT RISK Annual School Rankings. Canyon Creek, Cactus Ranch, Laurel Mountain, Spicewood, and Sommer elementary schools were named five out of the top five elementary schools in the Central Texas area. In the middle school category, Canyon Vista and Walsh were named two of the top five.

Penny Oates named new Callison Elementary Principal

Penny Oates has been named the new principal of Callison Elementary School. With more than 20 years of experience in education, Oates has most recently served Round Rock ISD as the Assistant Principal of Bluebonnet Elementary School since 2017.

Back to School Celebration to be held on July 28

Round Rock ISD, the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation, Round Rock Police Department and the Round Rock Express are partnering for the fourth year to host the annual Back to School Celebration.The event held on Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd., in Round Rock. Students in attendance will receive free school supplies and food while supplies last. Sports physicals for students in 7th to 12th grade will be provided for free as time permits during the event.
