Superintendent names Estes Interim Chief of Teaching and Learning

Round Rock ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores has named Executive Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning Mandy Estes Interim Chief of Teaching and Learning following the retirement of Robbin Gesch, who previously led the department.

Estes will serve in the role while district leadership screen applications, hold interviews and hire a new Chief of Teaching and Learning by November.

Estes has over 25 years of experience in education and has held positions in elementary and secondary education. She has served in her current position since 2014 and was previously the district’s Director of Elementary Education and the Principal of Caldwell Heights Elementary School.

Gesch, whose retirement went into effect Aug. 31, 2016, served as Chief of Teaching and Learning since 2013. Gesch has a total of 36 years in education and has served at Round Rock ISD for the past 12 years.
