The Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) has named Round Rock ISD Athletic Director Dwayne Weirich the 2016 Regional Athletic Administrator of the Year for Region 6.

Weirich was selected by his Region 6 peers, which includes athletic directors from approximately 34 counties, for demonstrating contributions to local, conference and regional interscholastic athletics.

“It was an honor and a humbling experience to be named the Athletic Administrator of the Year for Region 6,” Weirich said. “Our hope is that it was the result of our collective efforts to promote the association, assist others through professional development and everything our staff has done to help kids in our school district and beyond.”

The award is given to members that promote the objectives of the organization and to an individual that has done outstanding work for their district or region.

He was officially announced as the recipient of the award during the annual Texas High School Athletic Director Associations Banquet in July. He has been a member of the organization for past seven years and during that time has served as a regional director for two different terms and on the organization’s Board of Directors.
