The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation raised $247,200 at its annual Shining Stars Gala, held on Feb. 20, 2016.

The Gala is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year and proceeds are used to enrich, enhance and maximize the quality of education for all students in Round Rock ISD through scholarships, classroom grants and more.

The Shining Stars Gala was supported in part by St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center as a presenting sponsor with a $30,000 donation, Dell as a gold sponsor with a $15,000 donation, and the YMCA of Greater Williamson County as a silver sponsor with a $10,000 donation.

“We are fortunate as a school district to have such amazing partners who invest and support education,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “The Partners in Education Foundation as been a pillar for our schools for over 30 years. This was a world class event that will go a long way in supporting innovation and learning at Round Rock ISD.”

This year’s event, “A Night in Rio,” was hosted at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin and featured performances from Austin Samba School.

Additional sponsors include Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, who underwrote the entire Silent Auction area with a $5,000 donation; Wired Orthodontics, who hosted the reception cocktail hour and served as the paddle sponsor with a $4,000 donation; and Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, who hosted the reception food area with a $2,500 donation.
