Board of Trustees Approves Immediate Pay Increase for Educational Assistants

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved an adjustment to the current 2021-2022 compensation plan in order to give an immediate pay increase to instructional support employees, including educational assistants. The Board approved the change at a called meeting on Thursday, March 31. These employees will also be eligible for a districtwide pay increase for the 2022-2023 school year. The Board is scheduled to consider the 2022-2023 compensation plan later this spring.

Stony Point High School junior Amber Sorenson's twirling skills have earned her champion titles at state, regional, and UIL competitions. And after a nationwide contest in May 2021, Twirling to Fight Cancer, a nonprofit organization that partners with the Susan G. Komen Nevada Foundation, named Amber the Twirling to Fight Cancer High School Ambassador.

Community invited to review Proclamation 2022 instructional materials

The instructional materials on public display are for Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) related to health education for grades K through 5, grades 6 through 8, Health I, and Health II under consideration for adoption by the District. Teacher materials related to TEKS for physical education will also be displayed.

Dr. Laura Carlin-Gonzalez named Executive Director of Teaching and Learning

Dr. Laura Carlin-Gonzalez has been named Round Rock ISD's executive director of teaching and learning, where she will provide leadership and oversight for the District’s teaching and learning programs, including curriculum and assessment, library services, professional development, and instructional technology.
