Summer counselors offer graduates guidance for higher education and jobs
Throughout the summer, Round Rock ISD high schools will provide the services of a dedicated "summer melt" counselor, who will assist recent graduates in navigating their path toward higher education, the workforce, or a combination of both.
Social-Emotional Learning Camp 2022
Many Round Rock ISD fifth graders took part in SEL camp this summer. They focused on things like building relationships with others, how to manage stress levels, working as a team, and communication skills. All skills needed to help with the transition from elementary to middle school.
Andrea Larson named Region 13 Secondary Teacher of the Year
McNeil High School teacher Andrea Larson was named the Region 13 Secondary Teacher of the Year at an event in downtown Austin honoring Teachers of the Year from the more than 50 school districts in the Central Texas/Region 13 area.

Marisa Ramirez has been named the new principal of Ridgeview Middle School. Ramirez has served as assistant principal at Ridgeview and C.D. Fulkes middle schools since 2013. Jonathan Smith has been named the new principal of Cedar Ridge High School. Smith has served as the principal of Hutto High School since 2021 and, before that position, was the principal of Deerpark Middle School for five years.

Negrete has more than 20 years of experience in education. She is bilingual Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, and earned her Master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix in Santa Teresa.
