Graduation season is just around the corner, and excitement is in the air throughout Round Rock ISD!
Tyler Hultman Named Principal of Fern Bluff Elementary School
Tyler Hultman has been named the new principal of Fern Bluff Elementary School. Hultman has served as the assistant principal of Pond Spring Elementary School since 2017 and, during that time, helped create a school-wide reward system that focused on positive student behaviors and reduced discipline referrals.
Superintendent Update: 2020-2021 Start Date
As I have shared previously, we are planning to begin our school year on schedule, with the first day of instruction on August 20. Our first three weeks of instruction will be entirely virtual, with students accessing classes and assignments from home. Currently, we are planning to welcome students back to campus on September 10 with strict health and safety guidelines in place.
Kathy Cawthron Named Principal of C.D. Fulkes Middle School
Kathy Cawthron has been named the new principal of C.D. Fulkes Middle School. Cawthron has served as the principal of Berkman Elementary Arts Integration Academy since 2015 and, during that time, implemented a strong staff driven student support model for behavioral social and emotional needs and led the transition to an Arts Integration Academy.
Round Rock ISD to host Virtual Town Halls focused on Special Education
Round Rock ISD students and families will have the opportunity to ask questions about how special education services will be delivered in the upcoming school year during a Virtual Town Hall scheduled for Monday, August 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Round Rock ISD high schools will not participate in Fall 2020 UIL Marching Band competitions
In the best interest of staff and student safety, Round Rock ISD's five comprehensive high schools will not be competing in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Marching Band competitions this school year.
Superintendent Update: On-Campus Learning
I long for the day that our campuses can look and feel as they did “way back when.” I’m not speaking of 10 years ago; I’m referring to four months ago. We can all agree that we want our campuses open, receiving our students and staff while providing all the extracurricular activities that define our proud public schools. As a district, we are not at a point where we can design an educational delivery model that we all can agree on 100 percent.
