Round Rock ISD selects Donnie Bruton, Jr. as chief technology officer

Bruton has over 23 years of experience supporting technology endpoint devices and infrastructure systems in state, higher education, and K-12 public school environments. He has been Round Rock ISD’s director of technology infrastructure since 2021. And previously, Bruton served in technology leader roles for Georgetown and Pflugerville Independent School Districts.

Round Rock ISD recognized for protecting student data for third time since 2017

For the third time since 2017, Round Rock ISD has been awarded the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal in recognition of the measurable steps the District has taken to ensure the privacy of student data. The District was one of four school districts in the state to be awarded this status and previously received the distinction in 2019 and 2017. 

Students to keep District-issued Chromebooks this summer

Round Rock ISD is excited to announce all students will be able to keep their District-issued Chromebook over the summer. Having access to a Chromebook device promotes consistency and equitable access to online learning opportunities for all students.

Tech update regarding student logins

As the District dismissed for winter break, an internal reset of District systems changed some student’s login passwords. The District sent an email to parents/guardians on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 4:09 p.m. with information on how to request a password reset.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month: Stay Safe and Secure Online

How often do you consider your cybersecurity before you click? No one is immune to cyber risk. You may be giving away the keys to your kingdom if you aren’t paying attention to your password habits. Having a strong password can be your best defense in the wake of unyielding attacks by cybercriminals.

Home Access Center adds report cards

“Adding report cards is another way the District continues to add value to the Home Access Center,” said Katie Rice, student application support manager. “HAC is a central location for parents and students to manage their grades, assignments, and other information related to campus life.”

Bond 2018 Program Update: Fall 2019

Projects from Bond 2018 continue to move forward with many making significant headway during Summer 2019. These projects, and more that will take shape in the next three years,  will impact the entire Round Rock ISD community, which includes more than 50,000 students and 7,000 employees. 

STAAR results available online June 12

On June 12, you will be able to access your student’s scores for the May 2019 State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test. Results will be available online at the Texas Assessment Web Portal.
