The Round Rock ISD Community Education Department offers Central Texas children, ages 5 -18, summer activity camps beginning the first week of June through August 1. Camps are held Monday through Thursday.
Round Rock ISD Pre-K Rodeo is a two-day registration event that welcomes early learners, who turn 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2019, for the 2019-2020 school year. Parents are encouraged to pre-register online before attending the Pre-K Rodeo on Tuesday, July 16 or Wednesday, July 17. Online registration for Pre-K opens Monday, July 8.
The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved the academic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year during its regular meeting on Feb.28. Much like the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 calendars, the 2020-2021 academic calendar includes 75,600 operational minutes. A state professional development waiver accounts for 2,100 operational minutes through the use of five Professional Development Days within the school year.
On Wednesday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. parents of students turning 5 by Sept. 1, 2019, are invited to their neighborhood elementary campus for the Kindergarten Round-Up registration event. To expedite registration parents may pre-register online starting March 4.
Round Rock ISD has named Alifia Britton the new principal of Double File Trail Elementary School. Britton has worked in Round Rock ISD since 2015 and most recently served as assistant principal at C.D. Fulkes Middle School. She has also worked as a District instructional specialist, assistant principal and master teacher in Austin ISD, Manor ISD and Pflugerville ISD. She has 18 years of experience in education.
