Round Rock ISD families can access student STAAR scores through the Home Access Center (HAC) over the next few weeks.

Callison Elementary earned the Marzano High-Reliability Schools (HRS) Level Two certification

Callison Elementary School earned the Marzano High-Reliability Schools (HRS) Level Two certification for showcasing effective teaching in every classroom. The HRS program was created by Marzano Research to help transform schools into organizations that take proactive steps to ensure student success. Using a research-based five-level hierarchy, along with leading and lagging indicators, educators learn to assess, monitor, and confirm the effectiveness of their schools.

Laura Ihonvbere has been named principal of Callison Elementary

Laura Ihonvbere is the new principal of Callison Elementary School. Ihonvbere has served in a campus leadership role with Round Rock ISD at C.D. Fulkes Middle School, Cactus Ranch Elementary School, Wells Branch Elementary Arts Integration Academy, and Chandler Oaks Elementary School since 2010.

Penny Oates Named Principal of C.D. Fulkes Middle School

Penny Oates has been named the new principal of C.D. Fulkes Middle School. With 30 years of experience in education, Oates has most recently served Round Rock ISD as the principal of Callison Elementary School since 2019.

Round Rock ISD art educator helps students alleviate stress with Art Care Kits

Round Rock ISD Art Educator Carolyn Scalan couldn’t get the devastation her students experienced off her mind. An artist herself, she turned to the healing power of art to help her students cope with their feelings. Scalan created an Amazon wish list full of art supplies and sent an ask for donations out over her social media channels. A week later, dozens of Amazon boxes containing supplies arrived at her home every day for over a week. Scalan estimates that she received over $2,500 worth of donated supplies.

Elementary Art Exhibition

For 27 years, the Round Rock ISD Fine Arts Department has put elementary school students’ finest artwork on public display. This year the exhibition is at the Raymond E. Hartfield Performing Art Center for all to see.

Families, students, and staff asked to complete 2022 campus survey

From Monday, Feb. 21 through Friday, Feb. 25, the primary parent/guardian on file, students, and staff will receive an email from Round Rock ISD to link to your school’s 2022 survey. The survey is mobile-friendly and short. It can take less than five minutes to complete.

Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 begins March 7

Online registration for Round Rock ISD families to enroll kindergarteners for the 2022-2023 school year opens on Monday, March 7. Round Rock ISD has 35 top-rated elementary schools that educate, support, and serve Central Texas students in Round Rock, portions of Cedar Park, and the City of Austin.

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation Awards $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants

Educators from across Round Rock ISD campuses and departments were selected to receive $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants from the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. The Excellence in Education Grants provides resources for educators to execute innovative ideas, programs, materials, equipment, field trips, and various other needs that enhance student learning. All Round Rock ISD students are impacted by the grants in some capacity.
