Penny Oates has been named the new principal of C.D. Fulkes Middle School.

With 30 years of experience in education, Oates has most recently served Round Rock ISD as the principal of Callison Elementary School since 2019. During that time, she has led significant campus improvement efforts and worked to redesign goals to align with the vision of the campus. Before that, she was an Assistant Principal at Bluebonnet Elementary School and an instructional coach for the District. Before moving to Texas from Ohio, she taught middle and elementary school grades and was assistant principal at Hiltonia Middle School in Columbus, Ohio.

“C.D. Fulkes has a rich history in Round Rock ISD, and I look forward to supporting all students to be equipped for the futures they envision for themselves,” Oates said. “My goal is for all C.D. Fulkes students to have access to the highest levels of skills and coursework needed for the future. Working together as a community, we can make that a reality for our students.”

Oates earned a Master’s in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University.
