Dr. Patricia Ephlin has been named the Area Superintendent of the Stony Point Learning Community.

Dr. Ephlin has served as the principal of Hernandez Middle School since 2018 and during that time has led several successful initiatives in efforts to increase academic performance. In addition, she led campus-based intervention initiatives to improve student behavior and disciplinary practices. Before her role at Hernandez, she served as the principal of Robertson Elementary School for 11 years. A native Texan from El Paso, she has almost 30 years of experience as an educator and has been a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Leander, Del Valle, and Round Rock school districts.

“It is a great honor to serve our community as Area Superintendent for the Stony Point Learning Community,” Dr. Ephlin said. “Over the course of the past 15 years, I have been privileged to serve as a campus leader within our outstanding learning community. As we prepare for the upcoming year, I am excited to collaborate with all stakeholders to create opportunities to drive our strategic goals, with a focus on placing students at the core of our endeavors.”

Dr. Ephlin earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a master’s degree from Texas State University in education administration. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas State.

“Dr. Ephlin’s exceptional leadership will offer invaluable support to the Stony Point Learning Community,” Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez said. “With a strong commitment to success across all grade levels, there is no doubt she will tirelessly advocate for the progress and success of every student.”
