The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced it is ending the monitoring of the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees effective immediately. The Board had been under TEA monitoring since September 2021.
The monitor was installed following concerns and allegations of misconduct by past Board members. Since then, the monitor has been working closely with the Board to ensure that concerns were addressed and that the District was compliant with state laws and regulations.
“We are grateful for the support of Dr. Faltys during this period, and TEA’s decision to end the monitoring of our Board of Trustees,” Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez said. “Their decision is a reflection of the collective work of the Board of Trustees to improve their practices and how they serve our community.”
The removal of the monitor is a significant milestone for the District, as it indicates that the TEA is satisfied with the progress that has been made.
