The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees voted Thursday to approve the second installment of a retention bonus for full and part-time Round Rock ISD employees. The first installment was approved by Trustees late last year.
Full-time employees will receive $500 and part-time employees will receive $250 in their June paychecks. The June payment will bring the total of the bonus to $1,000 for full-time staff and a $500 bonus for part-time staff.
The resolution, which was originally presented to the Trustees in November, was created as an effort to retain, recognize and support staff during this school year with the continued challenges brought by the pandemic.
The District’s Chief Financial Officer Dennis Covington shared that the December and June payments will cost the District a total of $6.6 million and will be covered by resources made available through the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.
