Round Rock ISD has named Kim Winters the inaugural principal of Pearson Ranch Middle School.

Winters has served as the principal of Grisham Middle School since 2012 and previously held the position of assistant principal of Westwood High School. She has a total of 14 years of experience, all within Round Rock ISD.

“Serving the Grisham community for the past four years has been an honor and privilege,” Winters said. “While it is bittersweet to leave Grisham, I am eager to begin a new challenge to open another outstanding middle school in Round Rock ISD.”

A graduate of Texas State University, Winters earned a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education. Winters continued her education, earning a Master’s Degree in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

“I am proud to welcome Kim Winters as the inaugural principal of Pearson Ranch Middle School,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores said. “Mrs. Winters has a long history with Round Rock ISD and has proved to be a strong and enthusiastic leader. I am confident she will use her innovative spirit to make Pearson Ranch a destination school within our District.”

Pearson Ranch, the District’s 11th middle school, is slated to open in August for the 2017-18 school year. The school was funded through Bond 2014, totaling a combined $49,833,032. The new middle school will have a floor plan similar to Walsh Middle School and will include an in-school dance gym and an additional ensemble space in the fine arts wing.
