Last month, four accomplished student-athletes attending McNeil High School accepted college recruiting offers when they signed letters of intent. November signifies the early signing period for high school athletics, other than football.
By signing a National Letter of Intent (NLI), a prospective student-athlete receives a scholarship and agrees to attend the designated college or university for one academic year. Once a NLI is signed, prospective student-athletes are no longer subject to further recruiting contacts and calls.
McNeil athletes who signed letter of intent:
- Victor Bailey, Jr., basketball, University of Oregon,
- Ryan Bass, lacrosse, Coker College
- Tyler Chiapparelli, baseball, Texas State University and
- Sutton Marvin, swimming, University of Nebraska.
“Our student-athletes have put together outstanding athletic careers while attending McNeil High School, as well as demonstrating outstanding academic success in the classroom,” said Courtney Acosta, McNeil High School principal. “The Mav community wishes them the best of luck as they continue their athletic and academic careers.”
