Cedar Ridge High School senior Kelsey Singer has been named the sole recipient of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Lisa Landry Scholarship Award in Central Texas, earning up to $1,000 for college.

Kelsey was nominated for the award by Sara Parriott, Cedar Ridge business teacher and FCA huddle leader, because of her outstanding leadership with the Cedar Ridge FCA organization.

“Kelsey is the person who takes the lead and makes sure things get done as needed,” Parriott said. “She is the one that I can ask for an update and get it quickly. She has worked on recruiting on our campus and has stepped up to say that she will help get FCA at our feeder middle school up and going.”

Parriott and Greg Knight, FCA Williamson County area representative, surprised Kelsey with the news of her award before Kelsey received the award at the FCA 30th Annual Tom Landry Memorial Golf Tournament in October.

“I was just very humbled because they chose me,” Kelsey said. “It’s nice that they saw how much work I’ve put into FCA and rewarded me for that.”
