Heath Walz has been named the principal of Ridgeview Middle School.

Walz has served as the associate principal of Cedar Ridge High School since 2018. During that time, he helped plan and assess instructional programs aligned with District goals and facilitated various student and teacher focus groups to gather input to address campus issues. He also served on District level committees such as the Advanced Academics Ambassador Steering committee and the Gifted and Talented advisory group to address student equity with our advanced academics. He has a total of 18 years of experience in education, nine of those years as a classroom teacher.

“I am honored and privileged with the opportunity to serve as the new principal at Ridgeview Middle School,” Walz said. “I am so excited to be a part of this exceptional learning community that seeks and achieves excellence beyond academics for all students. Together we will continue the collaborative work of serving our students and families by providing a world-class education.”

Walz has a Master’s in Education Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Texas State University.
