Redbud Elementary School unveils its new mascot in anticipation of the campus’s inaugural school year.
The school community comprised of incoming students and families, with staff, voted that the school’s spirit colors are blue and silver, with a Ringtail Raccoon clinching the role as the mascot.
Native to the Texas Hill Country, ringtails are curious and clever. A ringtail’s long ring striped tail gives them adaptability and balance on their quest for adventure.
“Redbud Elementary School will foster inquiring and adaptable learners, making the Ringtail the perfect mascot to represent our school. It will help create a source of pride and spirit for years to come,” said Kimberly Connelly, Redbud Elementary School principal. “We’re so excited to open our doors this fall and welcome the Ringtail families to their new school.”
Redbud Elementary School is the District’s 35th elementary school. The school’s design is a giant tree near the entrance and library, coupled with a nearby orchard of redbud trees, which inspires the school’s name.
The school begins its first year delivering excellence in education in the Fall of 2021 and is located in the northeast section of Round Rock ISD at 1500 Ty Cobb Place. Voters approved the school in the 2018 Bond to provide space for the growing student population and relieve overcrowding at Herrington Elementary School.
