The Round Rock ISD Counseling Department will host a series of live, online conversations designed to give students and families another way to communicate directly with District counselors on a wide range of topics.
Conversations with a School Counselor will begin with two sessions in November, then transition to the first Tuesday of each month starting at 6 p.m. Each session is expected to last approximately one hour. Recordings will be available the following day on the Counseling Services website.

November 3: Transitioning from middle school to high schoolNovember 17: Balancing school work and personal timeJanuary 5: Transitioning from elementary school to middle schoolFebruary 8: Brain Development and Stress: a presentation from Resilient WilcoMarch 30: Gender 101 – Guest speaker Charles Williams, a counselor in Dallas ISD a contributing writer for the American School Counselor Association, will review contemporary gender considerations. In his words, “We have been taught that things are either black or white, boy or girl, masculine or feminine. Now we know that there is gray between the black and white, and the gray terms students – and adults – use to describe gender is ever-changing and evolving.”April 12: Building resiliency- Local Resilient Wilco presenters are hosting a two-part online series for parents and teens. This is the second session from Resilient Wilco, which focuses on the science of Resilience and the importance of building strong, healthy relationships with ourselves and others, especially during challenging times. You can view the first session of this two-part series by Counseling Services- April 27: Transitioning to life after high school- This conversation will assist students who have not yet settled on post-high school graduation plans. Round Rock ISD HS counselors will be providing an overview of what students should be doing if they still want to go to a college or a trade or tech school in the Fall.
