Six Round Rock ISD campuses named Project Lead The Way Distinguished Schools

Six Round Rock ISD campuses were named Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished Schools for the 2019 – 2020 school year.  Campuses that received this recognition include Joe Lee Johnson and Fern Bluff elementary schools and Stony Point, Westwood, Round Rock and McNeil high schools. This year, only 21 elementary schools and 14 high schools received this distinction in the state of Texas. Round Rock ISD had the only campuses in Central Texas to earn this distinction.

Turning a massive, traditional education system “on a dime,” so to speak, into a virtual environment has been challenging and complicated, particularly as we worked to ensure all of our students had access to the tools they needed to continue learning. There are no words to adequately express my gratitude for your patience and support and to our dedicated educators, administrators and operations staff who worked day and night to support students.We are all ready to turn the page on 2019-2020, but we also know we still face an uncertain future. Partners in Education Foundation awards over $110,000 in scholarships to Round Rock ISD Seniors

The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation (PIEF) awarded over $110,000 in scholarships to 54 Round Rock ISD seniors. This year, scholarship partners notified recipients through virtual video messages. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our families, businesses, and individuals who every year continue to support education through our student Scholarship program,” said Marianne Reap, PIE Executive Director.

Round Rock ISD to continue curbside meal distribution, adjust service locations during June

In efforts to continue serving families as effectively and safely as possible, adjustments to Round Rock ISD Curbside Meal Distribution Program will take place after the academic school year ends on May 21. This includes extending curbside meal distribution service through June 30 and adjusting distribution locations starting on May 26 as a result of construction projects taking place at Hernandez Middle School, Caldwell Heights, Double File Trail, Anderson Mill, and Forest North elementary schools.

Early College High School surprises legacy class of 2020

“We are so very proud of our ECHS Legacy class,” said Erika Elizondo, assistant principal of Early College High School. “The faculty surprised our seniors with congratulation yard signs to spread love and encouragement from our Owl Family.” The Early College High School Class of 2020 is the first class to earn their high school diploma and a two-year degree from Austin Community College. Way to go, Grads X2!
