National School Counseling Week, February 3-7, aims to highlight the impact school counselors have in helping students evaluate needs and plan for their future.
Round Rock ISD has 138 counselors employed across the District – 52 elementary, 27 middle, and 59 high school counselors work to meet the social, emotional, mental, personal, academic, and career needs of each student.
“Counselors at every level are advocates for students,” Director of Counseling Services Dr. Christina Wiswell said. “Our District counselors are trained mental health professionals with an open door to provide guidance for college or career readiness, help with bullying, or just a trusted adult to speak with.”
The counseling staff provides comprehensive counseling services to over 51,000 students in the District. At each grade level counselors help students improve their cognition, mindset , self-regulation, behavior, and social abilities.
