Marc Scott has been selected as the new principal of Joe Lee Johnson Elementary STEAM Academy.
Scott most recently served Round Rock ISD as the Assistant Principal of Cedar Valley Middle School since 2017 and as a summer school principal for the McNeil Learning Community. Prior to coming to Round Rock ISD, he served Leander ISD as an assistant principal, math interventionist and teacher at Running Brushy Middle School. He has over 20 years of experience in education.
He is also a graduate of the District’s Team One leadership program, which provides aspiring principals with professional development to develop the skills needed in the campus principal role.
“Joe Lee Johnson Elementary STEAM Academy is an innovative place of learning named after a great figure in our school district’s history,” Scott said. “I am honored and excited to work with the students, teachers, and families of the Trailblazer community. My hope is that we will continue to build on that legacy to achieve great results for all students at all levels.”
Scott earned his Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Concordia University.
“Marc Scott is a leader that is focused on collaboration and creating an environment that promotes success for all students,” Superintendent Steve Flores, Ph.D. said. “We are confident that his leadership skills and ability to develop strong relationships with students, staff and the community will serve the Joe Lee Johnson community incredibly well.”
