The application for community members to join the 2019-2020 Leadership Round Rock ISD cohort is now open. Leadership Round Rock ISD is a District service group where members participate in active discussions and receive an in-depth learning experience about the school District.

Class members will meet monthly from September through May. The sessions occur 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with the location changing each month.

“This group forum has proven to be a meaningful format in which representatives from across the District come together to actively engage in discussions, furthering the District’s ability to connect with District stakeholders,” Community Partnerships Supervisor Rachael Sefton said. “At the conclusion of the nine sessions, cohort members will have a keen appreciation for the complexities of running a large District.”

Six community members from each high school feeder pattern (Cedar Ridge, McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point and Westwood high schools) will be selected to participate in this year’s program.

Requirements for the class:

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16.

Six applicants from each high school feeder pattern will create a leadership cohort of 30 members.

Leadership RRISD was eye-opening on so many levels. I appreciate getting to know the staff and the backbone of the district. I have a new appreciation and value the service that is in place to keep our children safe, on the right learning path and to know that my tax dollars are being spent in a positive manner that will enhance the future of the world we live in. I know that my children are being trained by the best of the best and I have seen it from the inside out.
Jen Henderson Class of 2017-18

No matter how involved you are in the schools (staff, teacher, volunteer, parent), it is difficult to grasp the magnitude and complexity of managing one of the largest and fastest-growing school districts in the country. Leadership RRISD provide me: a) an understanding of the depth and breadth of challenges associated with running the entire district, b) exposure to the high degree of talent and commitment managing our schools, and c) the opportunity to participate and contribute at all levels of the district. I would recommend Leadership RRISD to all members of our community.
Ron Hash Class of 2015-16

Participating in Leadership RRISD was the single best thing I did to understand the philosophies, leadership and programs in my son’s school and the District. The experience allowed me to learn more about the challenges facing Round Rock ISD and how teachers and administrators are developing creative strategies to tackle those issues; it provided me the foundation to engage more actively with my son’s school in developing proactive solutions. Furthermore, Leadership RRISD was expertly run, taking great care to provide valuable information for my investment of time. I was also happy with the opportunity to learn more about the financial side of things given that my family’s tax dollars fund the schools, and was even happier to learn of the excellent financial stewardship that has been demonstrated by the Board and executive leadership.
