Cactus Ranch Elementary School Assistant Principal Kim Grubb has been named Region 13 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA).

Grubb was nominated for the award and selected after submitting an application and references from Cactus Ranch Principal Vicki Crain and Cactus Ranch staff.

“It’s such an honor to and privilege to represent Region 13 and Round Rock ISD as AP of the Year,” Grubb said. “The teachers, students and community here at Cactus Ranch inspire me every day to do my best and get better. This award is really a testament to their support.”

Grubb has been an integral part of Cactus Ranch’s Tier II Innovative School Grant, awarded by Round Rock ISD to transform the campus into a School of Communication. The $97,835 grant will allow the campus to focus on four areas of communication — social skills and collaboration, global communication, digital and social media literacy and public speaking and performing arts.

“Kim has been a true visionary for Cactus Ranch,” Crain said. “She has taken her work and goes above and beyond to serve our students and community. She is genuine and our students, teachers and parents are all raving fans of Kim.”

Grubb will represent Region 13 at the TEPSA annual conference in June where the statewide AP of the Year will be announced.
