Lego Robotics comes to Round Rock ISD

During the Robotics program elementary school students will get experience with coding, building and maneuvering the robots through numerous obstacles and assignments all while working as a team and problem solving along the way.

Round Rock ISD named one of the Best Communities for Music Education

Round Rock ISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. The District was one of 738 in the nation to earn the distinction.

Goalball: Students find a new passion

Goalball is a sport for the visually impaired that requires communication and teamwork to play. Round Rock ISD students partner with Goalball players from schools across Central Texas to practice and compete in tournaments each year.

Ridgeview Middle School Esports team advances to national league playoffs

In its second year as a campus club and first year as a competitive team, Ridgeview Middle School's Esports team currently ranks fourth in its league. Fourth place qualifies the team to compete in the Spring playoffs. Esports is short for electronic sports, which is competitive, organized video gaming. The team’s 30 members, including sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, compete nationally in organized gameplay tournaments against other students their age.

Careers in Tech: Cybersecurity Program

All five high schools now have cybersecurity classes offering courses like foundations in cybersecurity, pathways to cybersecurity as well as digital forensics. Students taking the courses can earn the CompTIA Security+ certification upon graduating from the program.

Dr. Laura Carlin-Gonzalez named Executive Director of Teaching and Learning

Dr. Laura Carlin-Gonzalez has been named Round Rock ISD's executive director of teaching and learning, where she will provide leadership and oversight for the District’s teaching and learning programs, including curriculum and assessment, library services, professional development, and instructional technology.
