At our Union Hill kindergarten promotion ceremony, one student was gifted a visit from his father, who is deployed and stopped in for a quick visit before returning to service in the Army.
Round Rock ISD Trustees approve 2022-2023 tax rate, lowering the rate from the previous year
The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees has approved a tax rate for the 2022-2023 school year that includes a decrease from the previous year and keeps the District’s rate among the lowest in Central Texas. Round Rock ISD continues to be the lowest taxing school district when compared to Hutto, Leander, Pflugerville and Georgetown ISDs.

FAFSA® opens Oct 1. Tips for getting started and free help to file
The State of Texas requires students in their senior year of high school to complete the FAFSA to graduate. When a student files the FAFSA, they may become eligible for scholarships or grants (based on need and merit), work-study programs, or low-interest loans. Some of the most beneficial financial aid funds are first-come, first-served. Students are twice as likely to receive financial help for college if they file the FAFSA early.

Festival of Bands’ spectacular sights and sounds celebrate Round Rock ISD students’ musical achievements in the District’s instrumental music programs. Families and community members will enjoy watching and listening to band and color guard students from our 16 secondary schools perform inspiring musical choreographed routines.
Laurel Mountain student becomes published author
Pranshi Mehta, a fifth grader at Laurel Mountain Elementary School, has written and now published an adventure book. Pranshi said she wanted to write a book about a young girl going on adventures and even saving her dad to show girls can be adventurous too. All the proceeds from the book benefit the Malala Fund, a non-profit organization that advocates for girls' education.
