Cedar Valley Middle School student artists earn top spots in national competition
Two student artists from Cedar Valley Middle School took first and second place for their entries in the Youth for Human Rights National Art Contest. Ella Giard, seventh-grade, placed first, and Ajay Chalil, sixth-grade, placed second.
Round Rock ISD named District of Distinction by Texas Art Education Association for Second Consecutive Year
For the second consecutive year, Round Rock ISD has been named a District of Distinction for its Visual Arts Program by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). The honor is given to select school districts for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and reach all different learners.
105 Round Rock ISD students named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists
A total of 105 Round Rock ISD students have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Westwood High School, with 78 semifinalists, led the District in total semifinalists.

Angelica Negrete named Wells Branch Elementary Arts Integration Academy principal
Negrete has more than 20 years of experience in education. She is bilingual Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, and earned her Master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix in Santa Teresa.
