Military father surprises family at kindergarten ceremony
At our Union Hill kindergarten promotion ceremony, one student was gifted a visit from his father, who is deployed and stopped in for a quick visit before returning to service in the Army.
First Day of School!
School is officially back in session at Round Rock ISD. Teachers welcomed over 47,000 students back into the classroom, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Check out some of the highlights from our first day of school.
Brushy Creek Ribbon Cutting
Round Rock ISD Board Members, faculty, staff, and community members celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new educational wing at Brushy Creek Elementary School on Tuesday, August 12, 2024. The latest addition was made possible by the voter-approved 2018 Bond and will serve third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students with interactive learning opportunities inside and out.
Kayren Gray was named the new Chief of Access and Opportunity
Kayren Gray is Round Rock ISD’s new Chief of Access and Opportunity. In this role, she will continue to lead the district’s effort to create equitable learning environments for every student enrolled in our schools and programs.

Westwood High School teacher Chris Mihealsick was named the Region 13 Secondary Teacher of the Year at an event in downtown Austin honoring Teachers of the Year from the more than 50 school districts in the Central Texas/Region 13 area.

Round Rock High School Model UN student delegates awarded honors at national conference
Round Rock High School's Model United Nations (UN) team, ROCKMUN, brought home seven awards from Model United Nations San Antonio (MUNSA), the nation's largest student-run model UN conference.
Jollyville Elementary robotics team takes first-place for Robot Design
The Jollyville Elementary School fifth-grade robotics team known as Jaguar Pride took first-place in Robot Design at the First Lego League Robotics Competition. Jaguar Pride bested 29 other teams comprised of students from fourth to eight-grade. The team's first-place win qualifies them to advance to the Regional Competition in April.
