Our schools thrive because of the time, energy, and passion our volunteers bring to the district. We have more than 8,500 active family volunteers serving as mentors, W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, chaperones, booster club members, classroom helpers, event organizers, library aides, and more. Their commitment to our students and staff is truly magical.
Students put their science skills to the ultimate challenge
Two Canyon Vista Middle School students have earned national recognition at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, a national STEM contest for middle schoolers. Hosted by the Society for Science, the competition invites the top 10% of nationwide middle school participants from regional events.
Laurel Mountain students cook for the community
Fourth grade students at Laurel Mountain Elementary School are making a difference.
Adapted PE purchases Overcomer devices
Thanks to a grant from the Partners in Education Foundation the Adapted PE program was able to purchase six Overcomer devices. These devices can be used as a lever system for bats, hockey sticks, and other sports equipment to help special needs students with physical activities they would otherwise not be able to participate in.

Students thrive at the 2024 Elementary Leadership Summit
The 2024 Elementary Leadership Summit, hosted by Round Rock ISD Enrichment, brought together student council members and young leaders across the district for an inspiring day of skill-building, collaboration, and school spirit. In its ninth year, the annual summit empowered students to represent their campuses and learn valuable leadership skills in an engaging, supportive environment.

Blackland Prairie Teacher Named 2023 HEB Excellence In Education Award Finalist
Watch Blackland Prairie third-grade teacher Candi Tenbush get the surprise of the year! This week, she was named a finalist in the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards and received a prize of $1,000 in front of her class. Next, she will head to San Antonio to see if she takes home the main prize. If she wins, she and her campus will each receive a check for $25,000.
