Trustees approve compensation plan for 2025–26 school year
Round Rock ISD trustees on Tuesday night approved a compensation plan for the 2025–26 school year. With the Texas Legislature in session this year, school districts had to wait to finalize compensation plans and annual budgets as lawmakers worked on a public school funding bill.
Round Rock ISD Community Education offers 85 after-school student enrichment classes for Fall
Round Rock ISD community education offers a wide variety of hands-on in-person and online interactive enrichment classes for elementary and middle school students. Parents/guardians can visit the community education registration portal to browse and register for Fall 2021 enrichment classes that begin the week of Sept. 13.

The legal landscape on whether or not school districts have the authority to require masks is changing rapidly. Given these developments, I have asked our Board President to call a meeting next week and I will be bringing a recommendation at that time that the mask opt-out provision be reserved for health or developmental circumstances only and that all other staff and students be required to wear masks indoors when six feet of social distance is not possible.
Five Round Rock ISD campuses named Project Lead The Way Distinguished Schools
Five Round Rock ISD campuses were named Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished Schools for the 2020- 2021 school year. Campuses that received this recognition include Joe Lee Johnson Elementary STEAM Academy and McNeil, Round Rock, Stony Point and Westwood high schools.

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation Awards $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants
Educators from across Round Rock ISD campuses and departments were selected to receive $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants from the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. The Excellence in Education Grants provides resources for educators to execute innovative ideas, programs, materials, equipment, field trips, and various other needs that enhance student learning. All Round Rock ISD students are impacted by the grants in some capacity.
Round Rock ISD supports 1:1 District-issued devices with website and on-campus specialists
Round Rock ISD’s 1:1 technology program ensures every student who needs a personal technology device is assigned a District-issued Chromebook. Students new to the District can check out a Chromebook from their campus. Having access to a Chromebook device promotes consistency and equitable access to online learning opportunities for all students.
