Coats for Kids Drive

Two Round Rock ISD Elementary schools, Herrington and Teravista, challenged each other to a coat drive and collected over 2500 coats to help keep kids warm this winter.

Julie Carrera Named Principal of Herrington Elementary

Julie Carrera has been named the new principal of Herrington Elementary School. Carrera has served as the assistant principal of Herrington since 2014 and, during that time, led efforts to support new teachers and adjustments to campus’ processes aimed at improving student performance and addressing needs.

Elementary Art Exhibition

For 27 years, the Round Rock ISD Fine Arts Department has put elementary school students’ finest artwork on public display. This year the exhibition is at the Raymond E. Hartfield Performing Art Center for all to see.

Families, students, and staff asked to complete 2022 campus survey

From Monday, Feb. 21 through Friday, Feb. 25, the primary parent/guardian on file, students, and staff will receive an email from Round Rock ISD to link to your school’s 2022 survey. The survey is mobile-friendly and short. It can take less than five minutes to complete.

Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 begins March 7

Online registration for Round Rock ISD families to enroll kindergarteners for the 2022-2023 school year opens on Monday, March 7. Round Rock ISD has 35 top-rated elementary schools that educate, support, and serve Central Texas students in Round Rock, portions of Cedar Park, and the City of Austin.

Herrington Elementary named Coat for Kids, Coat Drive Champions

Round Rock ISD’s Herrington Elementary Spanish Language and Culture Institute has earned the distinction of being named the 2021 Coat for Kids, Coat Drive Champions. United in their cause to provide new and gently worn warm coats and jackets for Central Texas children in need, collectively, the campus community secured over 300 coats to donate to Coats for Kids during a 15-day campaign.

Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation Awards $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants

Educators from across Round Rock ISD campuses and departments were selected to receive $125,000 in Excellence in Education Grants from the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation. The Excellence in Education Grants provides resources for educators to execute innovative ideas, programs, materials, equipment, field trips, and various other needs that enhance student learning. All Round Rock ISD students are impacted by the grants in some capacity.

Three potential names for Elementary 35 submitted to Board of Trustees

The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees will approve the name for Elementary 35 at its regular meeting scheduled for April 15, 2021. A committee made up of seven citizens, each selected by one of the seven Board members, one Board member appointed by the Board President, and one District administrator appointed by the Acting Superintendent of Schools, met in February and March to consider potential names, and narrow the list of nominations by the community to three recommendations.
