Round Rock ISD, in partnership with Shop LC, took fashion design students through an eight-month-long real-world learning experience, complete with an official fashion show during Austin Fashion Week and competition. Winners of the competition will design and showcase their clothing on the Shop LC network and collect a portion of the profits.

Sommer Elementary teacher named H-E-B Excellence in Education Award finalist

Sommer Elementary School teacher Marjorie Manning has been named a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Elementary Leadership Award. Manning was surprised Thursday morning during Sommer’s Kindergarten Assembly by a group of H-E-B representatives and district administrators with news of the honor. Along with the accomplishment, H-E-B awarded Manning with a $1,000 grant for her classroom and a $1,000 cash prize.
