Round Rock ISD students showcased their linguistic talents in the 2025 National Spanish Exam (NSE), earning national recognition for their Spanish language proficiency. The NSE is a prestigious online assessment administered by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), designed to evaluate vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening comprehension for students in grades 6–12.

Four Round Rock ISD campuses participated in this year’s competition: Pearson Ranch Middle School, Cedar Valley Middle School, Chisholm Trail Middle School, Stony Point High School, and Westwood High School. Across the district, students brought home an impressive range of medals—from gold to honorable mention—showcasing their hard work and commitment to learning Spanish.

Marie-Christine Douglass, Round Rock ISD’s K–12 World Languages Coordinator, commended the students and teachers for their achievements.

“Our Spanish learners are going above and beyond,” said Douglass. “This exam not only gives students a chance to measure their growth but also builds real-world confidence and opens doors for future scholarship opportunities. The results are a true testament to the dedication of our language teachers and the enthusiasm of our students.”
