Round Rock ISD music ensembles are ending the University Interscholastic League (UIL) season on a high note, posting their strongest performance since 2020.
This year, 87% of ensembles received superior ratings in Concert Performance and 86% received superior ratings in Sight Reading. That marks a 7% increase in superior ratings compared to the previous school year.
“This was an amazing season filled with exceptional performances,” said Jager Loyde, Director of Fine Arts – Music. “It’s a true testament to the dedication of our students and directors. What a way to represent Round Rock ISD!”
A total of 132 ensembles participated in the 2024 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations, including 42 bands, 40 choirs, and 50 orchestras.

- High School Band — Concert: 15 | Sight Reading: 15
- Middle School Band — Concert: 23 | Sight Reading: 23
- High School Choir — Concert: 18 | Sight Reading: 17
- Middle School Choir — Concert: 14 | Sight Reading: 13
- High School Orchestra — Concert: 23 | Sight Reading: 25
- Middle School Orchestra — Concert: 22 | Sight Reading: 21
In total, 115 ensembles received superior ratings in concert, and 114 received superior ratings in sight reading.
