Round Rock ISD proudly welcomes a new Assistant Chief of Police to the district. Latriesha Grandy has been selected for the position.

“I’m excited to be here, and for the opportunity to help engage the community and see the vision of this department come to life,” Grandy said.

Grandy brings 20 years of law enforcement experience, including serving as the first chief of police for Maud ISD when that district launched its department. Most recently, she served as chief of police at Wiley University in Marshall, Texas, where she implemented policies to enhance public safety and managed the department’s daily operations.

She said community engagement is one of the elements of the position that is most exciting to her. “I’m looking forward to the community engagement opportunities at our campuses. To help develop the students in different ways.

In addition to her law enforcement background, Grandy has experience teaching Criminal Justice courses at Maud High School while serving as chief of police. She holds an associate degree in applied science and child development from Texarkana College and a bachelor’s degree in applied arts and sciences from Texas A&M University.

Round Rock ISD Chief of Police Ryan Urrutia is excited to welcome Grandy to the department.

“We are excited to welcome our new assistant chief, Letriesha Grandy, to the district,” said Urrutia. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Maud ISD and Wiley University that will only strengthen our commitment to school safety and security, as well as building strong relationships with our students and community.”

Grandy officially begins her role on Monday, March 3.
