Dr. Shawn Miller is the new Principal of Cedar Ridge High School, starting Sept. 9.

Miller brings more than 16 years of experience in education. Most recently, he has served the students and staff in Leander ISD, providing leadership support in administrative services and strategic planning while partnering with campuses and district leaders.

He was the Glenn High School principal in Leander ISD, where he created a positive school climate and culture through professional learning, management, support, and data-informed decision-making.

“I am thrilled to join the Cedar Ridge High School family,” Miller said. “I look forward to collaborating with the students, parents, and staff to build upon the strong culture of respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence. I am honored to have been selected to lead this campus and serve the Raider community. We are CR!”

Miller started his educational career as a Special Education Coordinator in Wylie ISD, supporting and guiding administrators and Special Education teachers.

While working in Wylie ISD, Miller took on leadership roles at the middle and high school levels, providing instructional leadership and developing schoolwide plans regarding schedules, staff development, and special services, among many other strategic preparations that led to successful school years.

Cedar Ridge Learning Community Area Superintendent Nancy Guerrero said she looked forward to having Miller join her team.

“I’m excited to have Dr. Miller join the Cedar Ridge family,” she said. “He shares our focus on developing campus leaders while serving the Cedar Ridge community. I know he’ll strongly advocate for our students, staff, and community members.”

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas State University, another master’s degree in Special Education from Texas A&M Commerce, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

His first day with Cedar Ridge High School will be Sept. 9.
