Kayren Gray is Round Rock ISD’s new Chief of Access and Opportunity. In this role, she will continue to lead the district’s effort to create equitable learning environments for every student enrolled in our schools and programs.
Gray has experience in leadership, educational engagement, and equity development, having served as the Interim Chief of Access and Opportunity since April 2024.
Gray has previous educational experiences as a social studies teacher and assistant principal with Killeen ISD and then as an administrative supervisor for Talent Engagement with Austin ISD.
“My journey has been shaped by my multiple marginalized identities, which have fueled my commitment to lifting the voices of those impacted by inequities, dismantling barriers to access, and co-creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environments and opportunities.
As I embark on this journey to continue serving the Round Rock ISD community, I am filled with anticipation and gratitude. I know that our collective efforts are essential to ensuring that every student reaches their full potential—academically and socially—preparing them to be future-ready. Together, we can create a brighter, more inclusive future for all rooted in dignity and belonging.”
Gray holds a Master’s of Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Texas A&M Central Texas. She is a certified TCOLE basic instructor, a certified mediator, and a TEA continuing professional education provider.
Her first day with Round Rock ISD was Friday, August 9, 2024.
