Blackland Prairie Elementary School earned the Marzano High-Reliability Schools (HRS) Level Two and Level Three certifications for showcasing effective teaching in every classroom.
Level 2 certification means Blackland Prairie Elementary School has established “Effective Teaching in Every Classroom,” which focuses on the responsibility of both school leaders and teachers to ensure high-quality instruction. Level 3 certification means the school has created a “Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum,” which requires schools to create a single curriculum that is taught by all teachers.
The HRS program was created by Marzano Research to help transform schools into organizations that take proactive steps to ensure student success. Educators learn to assess, monitor, and confirm their schools’ effectiveness using a research-based five-level hierarchy and leading and lagging indicators.
“I am continually amazed by the unwavering commitment of our exceptional staff,” Blackland Prairie Principal Jesica Borunda said. “Their tireless dedication to our students and families shines brightly in every classroom, hallway, and interaction. Achieving the Marzano High-Reliability Schools Level Two and Level Three certifications is a monumental testament to their hard work, reflecting decades of research and best practices in creating a nurturing and effective educational environment. Furthermore, successfully recertifying and defending our Level One status underscores our steadfast focus on maintaining a safe, collaborative, and inclusive community. Together, we are not just educating; we are building a legacy of excellence, one student at a time. Go Wildcats!”
Schools must collect data and validate their performance to climb each hierarchy level to be certified. Certification is determined by Marzano Research analysts in cooperation with school data teams.
