Angelica Negrete is the new principal of Wells Branch Elementary Arts Integration Academy.
Bringing six years of elementary principal experience from El Paso ISD, Negrete spearheaded a dual language model campus and implemented data-driven instructional systems. Her leadership fostered a purposeful targeted improvement plan, driving equitable action steps that notably enhanced student academic growth.
“My passion is to ensure every one of my students is treated with respect and valued as a student in my school,” said Negrete. “We will design campus services and culture around the whole child, fostering an environment where students feel engaged, safe, supported, healthy, and challenged.”
Negrete has more than 20 years of experience in education. She is bilingual Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, and earned her Master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix in Santa Teresa.
“We’re excited to have Ms. Negrete join us. She has substantial expertise as a school leader specializing in dual language programming,” said Dr. Mya Mercer, McNeil Learning Community area superintendent. “She comes to Wells Branch Elementary with a stellar record for serving her community and achieving significant results for all.”
Her first day with Round Rock ISD will be Tuesday, Jan. 16.
