Round Rock and Stony Point high school’s education in training program students are advancing to Nationals after competing at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) conference in Round Rock in March.
Education in training is a career and technical education program that prepares students to pursue careers in education and earns them transferable leadership skills. Participating juniors and seniors spend 2.5 hours every other day in a District classroom working as a teaching assistant, creating lesson plans, leading reading groups, and contributing to achieving positive student outcomes.
TAFE State winners Alyssa Martinez, Marisa Loft, and Summer Harris from Round Rock High School, and Lamya Ujjainwala, Avery Bailiff, and Sebastian Benavidez from Stony Point High School will travel to Orlando, Fla., in July to compete in the TAFE national competition. This is the second consecutive year students from Stony Point’s education in training program have advanced to the national competition.
