Round Rock ISD Transportation Department was notified late this week that beginning Monday, October 31, the Williamson County Great Oaks Drive Bridge at Brushy Creek project will have a change in traffic pattern that is anticipated to last at least three to four months.
The change in traffic pattern will mean school buses will not be able to turn onto Brushy Creek Road/Hairy Man Road from Great Oaks Drive or onto Great Oaks Drive from Brushy Creek Road/Hairy Man Road. This will require buses to re-route to Parmer Lane to access the Ranch Trails and Wilson Trace neighborhoods.
We are anticipating a delay in both morning and afternoon bus arrivals for a number of campuses, particularly for Sommer Elementary School, Cedar Valley Middle School and Round Rock High School to be the most impacted.
Transportation will be reaching out to bus riders specifically, but we want to ensure all students and staff from impacted campuses are aware. If your child rides the bus, please be sure to login to the
SMART Tag parent portal to set up SMART Alert text notifications when and where your student gets on and off the bus and information on delays.
