In its 20th year, the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation annual golf classic raised $115,000 for Round Rock ISD student and teacher programs. With 36 participating teams, the sold-out “World of Sports” themed event was held at the Golf Course at Star Ranch on Monday, Oct 5.
“With the added stresses COVID-19 has put on our local businesses, the PIE Foundation is humbled and overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of support from the tournaments underwriting partners who contributed to its success,” said Marianne Reap, executive director of the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation. “This year, the operating cost was a little higher than normal with the purchase and use of the personal protection equipment for guests and staff, but it was entirely worth it for the safety and health of all involved in this day of giving.”
Stantec was the Grand Slam presenting sponsor with a $10,000 donation. Ace sponsors, Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, HPM and McCreary, Veselka Bragg & Allen PC, contributed $5,000 each.
Eagle sponsors Cunningham Allen, Kalahari Resorts & Nelson Family Life Foundation Inc., Maxwell, Locke & Ritter, PBK Architects, and True North Consulting Group contributed $2,500 each.
Adding to the event’s fundraising success were 22 Birdie team sponsors and over $13,500 from Austin and Round Rock area businesses and families who purchased sign sponsorships.
“We are sincerely grateful for the dedication to education that all of our partners have provided to the PIE Foundation during this unprecedented time,” said Jarrod Sterzinger, Round Rock ISD PIE Foundation Board president. “We appreciate their partnership in our efforts to continue to support excellence in education within Round Rock ISD for all students.”
